Co-Sponsoring Financial Support Testimonials

Co-Sponsoring

The Downtown Community Forum offers a professional and widely respected forum that helps bring important issues to the public and encourages free and open discussion on a variety of topics that affect our quality of life and work.

DCF actively seeks co-sponsors for these programs. Unlike other organizations looking to simply increase attendance at their programs, we strive to bring together the right people. We've built a strong reputation as an organization willing to collaborate.

Rochester organizations and businesses make an important contribution to the development of intriguing and timely DCF programming by offering unique perspectives, access to speakers with expertise on various subjects, and the participation of their own constituents.

These alliances offer increased opportunities to unite constituencies and build new bridges of understanding, while ensuring that the resulting programs will spotlight relevant and timely topics. By collaborating with other organizations, DCF can have a greater impact on the community without duplicating their efforts.

We also welcome your suggestions for future topics and are always looking for volunteers to assist with our programs. Use our online contact form to suggest a topic or inquire about volunteer opportunities.

Testimonials

"The DCF is still an honest, true attempt to gather the community together to listen, to grow, and to take steps."
Sister Joan Sobala
First Executive Director
DCF (1985-1998)
"The Downtown Community Forum is a unique opportunity for citizens across this metropolitan area to be exposed to different ideas - progressive ideas - about diverse community topics. The setting is definitely conducive to open discussion that motivates individuals to get involved and make a difference in their community."
Rochester Mayor William A. Johnson, Jr.
Frequent Attendee and Past Speaker
"Downtown Community Forum has always been willing to tackle issues that others were reluctant to tackle. They have been at the forefront in bringing important issues to the community and they have provided a very cost-effective platform for other not-for-profits to bring important issues to the table."
Richard Christopher
Former President
Coalition for Downtown Rochester
"The DCF has always been able to attract the best and the brightest, both locally and across the nation. Their variety, relevancy and quality make them a first-class resource for this community."
Reverend Gordon Webster
Pastor of the Downtown United Presbyterian Church
Member of the Common Good Planning Center
"While it comes from our mission as a downtown church, the DCF presents itself as non-denominational. It is critical to make everyone feel comfortable attending these lectures because we have such a diverse downtown population. It really puts critical issues under the microscope for all of us and broadens our knowledge of what's happening in the world."
Joan Hensler
Former City Councilperson and St. Mary's Parishioner
